Quarter Beef about 3.5 cubic feet into the top freezer of average fridge. But be prepared for 3 or 4 boxes for very large steers though 4 boxes is rare.

space requirments

  • 3.5 to 5 cubic feet freezer space recommended for a qaurter beef.
  • 7 to 10 cubic feet freezer space recommended for a half beef.
  • Quarter Beef can usually fit in 2 to 3 boxes.
  • The photo to the right shows what a quarter beef would typically looks like. A half beef would typically be 4 to 6 boxes and a whole beef about 8 to12 boxes.
  • Taking the beef out of the boxes will reduce space requirements on your freezer significantly.
  • With "tight" packaging meat will stay good in freezer for at least 12 months. Air is what causes freezer burn.
