This is some of the first pastures grazed for the new season. The cattle are grazing winter rye grass and vetch among other plants. The rye and vetch grass grows before anything else out of winter. This cell is one day worth of grass for the herd. If you look to the left you can see where they were the day before.

You know you have a good mother cow when instead of grazing the newly opened lush, green pasture with the rest of the herd she chooses to guard over her sleeping, new born calf.
