After experiencing what it's like grow and sell pastured eggs, pastured chicken, free range pork, and grass fed beef I have decided to focus solely on 100% grass fed beef going forward with our choice of breed being Devon or Ruby Reds.
I believe grass fed beef is the most sustainable of all of the enterprises because of the cattle's ability to thrive solely on native pasture, our breeds calm nature, customer demand, and profitability. Other reasons ranging from poultry processing regulations, feed prices, energy audits and escaping pigs digging up the neighbors lawn. I feel confident in the decision and look forward improving the land while providing great tasting, nutritious beef to the community.
