A Day on Vitality Pastures - Grass Fed Devon Beef Coming

9/13/2012

Today I moved all the cattle back to the first pasture the cattle arrived on in early summer. This will be the last paddock for one of our grass fed steers. This paddock has a beautiful mixture of grasses and legumes so the beef should be really good.
We found a nice butcher shop in Vineland. So we should have 100% Grass Fed Devon Beef available in about a month or so. Can't wait!

Just wondering who does your slaughtering for you. Places that do this on a small scale are hard to find anymore. I used to work in a butcher shop in New york that processed local pasture raised meats but we only could process carcusses not slaughter, which as you know must be done in a USDA inspected facility. Kind of curious if there are any slaughter facilities around in south jersey anymore. I only know of one myself

Hi Robert,
We found Nibock Butcher shop in Salem New Jersey. He is USDA inspected and does at least pork. There is another butcher in Vineland New Jersey called Marcacci's Butcher Shop. Marcacci does beef, lamb an goat. These are the butchers we plan on using very soon for our beef and pork. We process our own chickens. If you are interested just let me know. We just finished a batch of 70 yesterday.

Definitely interested in your operation. Let me know if you have time someday to show me around. I am familiar with marcacci's, I got a hindquarter of beef there this spring for a meat cutting demo. Only place around that has hanging beef. Nice to see there are farms in south jersey doing pasture raised, should be much interest. Let me know if you have the time, I believe you have my email
thanks

Hi Robert,
It would be my pleasure to show you around the farm. A good time to come would be 12:00 pm any day of the week. If that time does not work for you we can set up a different time. Just let me know what day is best for you and I'll let you know if that day will work. Please contact me with any questions.
Thank You,
