Clovers provide a lot of protein for the cattle. Clovers being a legume also take nitrogen from the air and pull the nitrogen to the soil. Microbes that live on the roots of the clover allow this process to to happen. This reducing the need for fossil fuels.
Crown Vetch seed is selling for $155 per 5 lb bag. This Crown Vetch is growing in our pastures wild. You have to move the cattle fast because they will eat the plant to death. This is one of the plants that will be later turned to beef. This photo was taken October 23.
